Eligibility for Membership

1. The following persons are entitled to make use of the Library facilities:
   

          I. Memberships with no Library Deposit or fees

                  Members of Committees and various bodies appointed by the University

·                       Authorities during their tenure

·                       Teachers of Goa University

·                       The Non-Teaching Employees of the University

               II. Memberships with Library Deposit only. 

·                       P.G. Students of self-financed courses like MBA, MCA and MFS in the University

·                       Exchange students and visiting scholars

               ·        Retired teachers of Goa University

        III. Memberships with Library Deposit and fees

              ·        P.G. Students of the University

              ·        M.Phil students

              ·        Ph.D. Students

              ·        Research Assistants/ Project Assistants.

              ·        Ex-Students for one year immediately proceeding the final year of his/her registration.

        iV. Memberships with Library Deposit and Fees.

·        Other Scholars, Journalists, Officers/Scientists recommended by the business concern etc., or any individual interested in pursuit of knowledge, on approval of the Registrar/ Librarian by paying fee of Rs. 400/- per year.

·        Corporate Membership to Industrial Houses and Corporate Bodies. (Rs. 5,000/- as Annual Fees)

·        Institutional Membership to Academic Institutions in the State of Goa. (Rs. 5,000/- as Annual Fees)

2. The Membership will be given by the Librarian to the students and all other readers on their application made in the prescribed form along with two ID Card size latest photographs along with necessary receipt/s of the Library fees/Deposits.

3. For faculty members the membership will be given on recommendation letter from respective Head of the Department and copy of the appointment orders.

4. The Retired Teachers are allowed to use the Library for reference freely, where as if they want to avail borrowing facility then they will have to pay the necessary Library Deposit and the annual fee of Rs. 200/- per book subject to the maximum of  two.

5. For Members other then The Category-I Membership shall be for One Academic Year only and shall be renewable every year.

6. Membership may be cancelled at any time by the chairman of Library Committee on the recommendation of the Member Secretary on valid grounds.

7. All the members of Library will be provided with necessary Library Tickets as per the category of reader.

8. Membership for JRF/SRF/RA/PA etc. will be granted on recommendation letter from H.O.D. and on payment of Library Deposit of Rs. 1500/- (Refundable).

9. Researchers coming for reference work from other Universities/ Institutions outside the state for a period of 30-60 days will have to pay a fees of Rs. 100/- for the 1st week and Rs. 50/- for subsequent weeks. No Library material/books will be issued to them out of Library. Any such user who would like to use the library for more than 60 days has to take his/her membership by paying necessary Library Deposits and the annual Library Fees.

10. Students of Affiliated Colleges of Goa University coming for reference work for their projects should produce bonafied certificate from their respective Colleges for the purpose. No library material/books will be issued out of the Library for these users.

H.O.D’s of those departments who engages Visiting    /Contributory Faculties will be issued with 5 cards on their request in order to make them available to the Visiting Faculties (if any).
