Welcome
to the Library Tutorial Page. This page will outline the detailed
account of the Library from all it's activities and services, from
the user as well as the library staff point of view. The library
users are required to have a first hand information about the
library in order to utilise it to the maximum extent in quenching
their thirst of information requirements.
Information in the Libraries is available in different sections and
formats. For example, an user would like to have an account of
"Automobile Industry" in a very basic and general concepts
without getting involved in actual technical treatise, then General
Encyclopedia are the sources to be consulted. Like-wise a researcher
would like to know the current developments in his field of study,
he has to search the secondary information sources like the
abstracting periodicals or the Current Contents , a journal of
content pages or even the COPSAT Database available in the Library.
Considering the huge quantum of information and the variety of the
user requirements, the library has undertaken automation activities
in a phased manner. Already we have an upto-date database entries of
the books collection which is search and accessible on the campus
intranet.
The development of the Library website and it's contents will be
notified under the heading what's
new.
The Library is also happy to announce to bring out a monthly newsletter
which basically contains links to resources and Information to
several important developments in respective subjects areas. Further
this newsletter is sent by e-mail to the subscribers. If you belong
to Goa University you need not subscribe. In case you would like to
prefer to recieve the newsletter to your seperate mail Id, then you
can subscribe to the same.
